Who We Are

Our mandate as a ministry is to provide spiritual guidance, educational support, and compassionate care to orphans, widows, and vulnerable communities. We exist to serve humanity with love and faith, not for profit or commercial gain.

Our History

The First church

God’s Care Pentecostal Ministries Limited was birthed out of a burden God placed on the heart of Pastor Azaria Mugizi in the early 1990s. What began as a small fellowship in the living room of a widow in Ishongororo in 1993 has grown into a vibrant ministry with churches, and schools across Uganda. In 1996, the ministry secured land in Ishongororo Town, which became its permanent home and headquarters.
The ministry’s vision was clear from the beginning to raise and release kingdom-distinguished citizens who would serve God and transform their communities. To achieve this, the church invested in both spiritual and social development. Over 26 churches have been planted in different regions of Uganda, forming a strong fellowship united under God’s Care Pentecostal Ministries. As an autonomous entity, independent from its members, sponsors, and affiliates worldwide, it is dedicated to serving the community through voluntary initiatives. The ministry focuses on providing religious and educational support, as well as caring for orphans, widows, and other vulnerable groups, offering charitable services aimed at uplifting lives rather than pursuing profit or commercial gain.

Outside spiritual growth

Beyond spiritual growth, Pastor Mugizi and the ministry saw the pressing needs of the community. In 1994, they started a school to fight poverty and ignorance through education. Today, the school provides full primary education (nursery to primary seven) and supports orphans and needy children. The ministry also established vocational training, agricultural projects, and empowerment programs for widows, youth, couples, and leaders to build self-sustaining communities. From humble beginnings to a vibrant Christian organization recognized by the Government of Uganda and the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches (NFBAC), God’s Care Pentecostal Ministries continues to stand as a beacon of faith, hope, and transformation committed to serving God and uplifting lives.

About The Founder & President

Pastor Azaria Mugizi

Pastor Azaria Mugizi is a family man, church planter, Bible teacher, and community transformer based in Ibanda District, Uganda. He is married to Margaret Ataliba and together they are raising seven children and other children under their care. Mugizi is the Founder and Director of God’s Care Pentecostal Ministries Limited, with its headquarters in Ishongororo, Ibanda.
At the time of Mugizi’s early life, he grew up in a poverty-stricken home in Bushenyi District, with limited access to education and opportunities. After his father’s death in 1999, life grew more difficult, yet in 1987, before this loss, Mugizi gave his life to Christ during a crusade in Kampala a turning point that reshaped his destiny.
In 1989, he received a divine call into ministry through a series of dreams, confirming God’s hand upon his life. He began serving in United Pentecostal Church before planting his first church in Kitwekyanjovu,Lwengo District, in 1990.

Starting in a small thatched hut, the work steadily grew despite challenges, including seasons of poverty and personal loss. In 1996, following God’s leading, Mugizi relocated to Ishongororo, Ibanda District, where he took on leadership of a struggling congregation of 25 believers. Under his ministry, the church has since grown to hundreds of members, and God’s Care Pentecostal Ministries has expanded to establish 26 churches, a primary school, and projects supporting orphans, widows, and vulnerable families. Today, Pastor Azaria Mugizi continues to serve as Senior Pastor of Ishongororo Pentecostal Church, providing spiritual leadership and championing community transformation across Uganda through the vision of God’s Care Pentecostal Ministries.
